Hello

My name is Amy Galvin

I bring over 25 years of experience in health, fitness, and rehabilitation. Since graduating with a degree in Sport Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention in 2003, I have continued to expand my knowledge through extensive CPD training and have worked with a diverse range of clients, from children and everyday individuals to elite athletes. Alongside this, I am a certified Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor, and Yoga Teacher, allowing me to take a well-rounded and integrated approach to movement, recovery, and performance.

I am passionate about helping people move pain-free and supporting overall wellbeing. My approach goes beyond temporary fixes - I focus on addressing the root cause of pain and empowering clients with the tools and knowledge they need

to self manage in order to achieve long lasting results.

Whilst I use a range of manual therapy and rehabilitation techniques, my work is rooted in the Anatomy in Motion (AiM) Method, a whole-body, joint-centric approach to uncovering and resolving movement imbalances to restore pain free movement.

My Journey to Anatomy in Motion (AiM)

I discovered Anatomy in Motion out of sheer frustration after years of searching for the root of my own pain. Following the birth of my children, I couldn’t run without experiencing debilitating pain in my upper right abdomen. At first, I assumed it was due to weakened core muscles from pregnancy and thought it would resolve once I regained strength. But with two lively boys born just 18 months apart, I had little time to focus on myself. I avoided running and stuck to other forms of exercise, but over time the pain only got worse - even walking became uncomfortable.

I sought help from countless practitioners: physiotherapists, osteopaths, a chiropractor, even a consultant sports doctor who sent me for ultrasound and CT scans. Yet no one could find the cause. The only temporary relief I experienced was when a physio strapped my right foot, but as soon as the tape came off, the pain returned. Eventually, I decided the only person who could fix me was me. In my search for a different approach, I came across AiM and immersed myself in their training. AiM was unlike anything I’d seen before, a method that completely rethinks how we view movement and rehabilitation. Through AiM, I unlocked the restrictions in my body that were driving my pain and, after 10 years of being unable to run, I could finally run again - pain free. (Now it’s just my fitness I need to catch up on!)

In case you’re wondering, the cause of my pain wasn’t down to my core. My right upper obliques were under constant tension (length) due to limitations in the way my feet, pelvis, and spine were moving. A valuable lesson I learned first-hand: if a muscle hurts, stretching is rarely the answer. Muscles are often painful not because they’re “short and tight,” but because they’re "long and tight".
